Here is your challenge for this last Friday of the month. Pull out your calendar for May and scope out what’s happening.

Find a block of time: a whole weekend, a day, a half day, or an hour where you have nothing else planned. BLOCK IT OUT IN PEN as “MeTime”. There are many names for this other than MeTime. Mandatory Fun. Play Time. Creation Time. Discover your own creative name for your MeTime. That’s part of the fun. I’m traditional, I call mine an Artist’s Date from The Artist’s Way.
Yes, use a pen to block out this time; make it permanent. If you’ve got strong Pitta in you, pick a color that will always represent your MeTime. Choose a color that is perfect for YOU and your time. It’s all about you.
Tricksy part: no one is allowed to infringe on your MeTime. It’s a date, an appointment…whatever you need to call it to make sure it’s real and un-infringable.
Now, your job is to choose something that sounds super fun to do during your block of time. Super fun to you. Not anyone else. Just you. Don’t bring anyone else along.
When the time comes: do it.
Here are five ideas to get your juices flowing:
–Visit a museum
–Go see a random movie (I love the Amherst Cinemas for shows I might not normally have thought of…they even offer National Theatre Live)
–Sit in a coffee shop, savor your drink of choice, and listen to the people around you
–Go to the beach for the day (or the weekend if you were lucky enough to have that big of a block)
–Pull out your favorite music and play it
It doesn’t have to be anything big. Just time for you and something you love.
