Resist, and the tide
will sweep you off your feet.
Allow, and grace will carry
you to higher ground. The only
safety lies in letting it all in –
Danna Faulds: excerpt from Allow
To fully Allow, we must first Soften. Sometimes, we need to soften the tension in the pose. Breathe softness into the painful spots. Soften the sharp edges of our thoughts. Soften. Soften. Soften…
Then, we must Soothe. It’s All Good. It is okay to be uncomfortable. It is okay to feel imperfect. It is okay to be angry on the mat. It is okay to cry on the mat. It is okay to laugh ridiculously on the mat. It is okay. You are okay. Soothe. Soothe. Soothe.
Only then can we fully Allow and fully drop into the Surrender. To melt into the river of life and be carried on the waves of Grace. To fully and deeply…Belong.
