Ayurveda Studies Begin

If you missed Foundations of Ayurveda this morning, don’t worry, we recorded it! It’s full of the juicy, necessary stuff of life. This class set up the foundational understanding of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and began planting seeds to explore. We began to unpack some of the basic tools of Ayurveda and discussed how and why they are useful and necessary. We began to build a personal wellness toolbox to begin our practice of self care. It’s the foundational class that will support your wellness and any of the upcoming classes you might be interested in taking. If you missed it, please reach out to request the recording link.

Next up is Ayurvedic Routines on October 15th, 10-12 (via Zoom/Recording). Routines will deepen the foundations and help us to understand the rhythms of nature and time. We’ll look at our place in those rhythms and see how we might adjust our own rhythms (and habits) to better align to this natural balance. We’ll talk about the rhythms of the day, the month, the year, and the lifetime, then explore how to use this wisdom to bring simple day-to-day healing and deep (almost magical) healing into our lives. Living in Rhythm is the absolute key to healing and wellness.

This class, along with Foundations, is also essential for yoga teachers. It explains the sister science concepts behind what we do every day in our teachings. Why are we teaching to seasons and time of day? Why do we choose our poses and sequences the way we do? Why do we tweak and modify poses the way we do? Why do we teach certain styles of classes? Why do some classes create balance and ease, while at other times the same class creates imbalance and dis-ease? These will become clearer through the lens of Ayurvedic Rhythms.

Foundations of Ayurveda, Ayurvedic Routines and Ayurveda and Digestion are the foundations. We recommend that you take these classes before diving into classes that focus on specific imbalances and disEase. Those will include Women’s Health, Hormone Health, Heart Health, Skin Health, Mind Health, and more. They will arrive on the calendar for 2023.

*For now, these classes will take place on Zoom to make it more accessible and comfortable for everyone as we head into fall. The recording will be available if you are unable to make the live time, but joining live gives you the opportunity to ask questions to better tweak the information to meet your personal needs, after all everyone is unique and special.
