Full Moon Yoga

It’s the Strawberry Moon tomorrow and that means Full Moon Yoga at 7pm.  Please let me know if you’re planning to come.  Bring a mat, and/or a beach towel, and any other props to make your practice more comfortable.  We’ll be outside by the fire pit, rain or shine, enjoying whatever surprises that might come with…

June’s moon is named the Strawberry Moon by the Algonquin tribes who followed a lunar ‘calendar’ to know when to harvest, plant, and follow the seasonal shifts (as opposed to our solar based calendar).  The full moon in June was when it was time to harvest the strawberries.  When the early settlers came to America, they adopted the names of the moons from the native tribes.  In Europe, June’s moon is called the Honey Moon, the Mead Moon, and the Rose Moon.
